What would we do without our cellphones? Just saying that you can't think about living your life without them, especially now when they keep getting better and better. We surf the web, download music, check the train schedule or find our way with a GPS.

But no matter how many new apps will be invented, one thing will just never change: The phonebook. Sometimes it's like a box of Pandora. There are names and numbers of people you hardly know (anymore) and actually, you don't really want to know them anymore. They are mainly those people you want to erase, but you can't.

What if they suddenly call you and you don't know who is calling you? In that cases you need to explain why you couldn't tell who they were from the number on your display and that is just way too much drama.

Opposite to this phenomenom, there are names in the book where you just go like: 'Woh....haven't heard from him/her in a long time. Wondering, what he/she is doing...' You think about pressing the CALL button but in the end you just stick with not pressing it.

What should we say? How should we explain a year/month long span of not calling? And do we want this? Do we want to call someone who forces us to explain why we haven't call earlier? Do we wanna feel guilty? Then...why should we call anyway?

Easy. Because there is the small possibility that this person on the other side of the phone just picks up and says: 'Hi. It's great to hear from you.' The total opposite could happen, but we are often too cowardly to try it. Mostly because of the fact that we feel guilty for not calling.

In my opinion, there is just one thing left to say about this topic. If you don't reject calls from this special person for at least three times a day, then you don't need to feel guilty. You didn't do anything wrong at all.

The most important fact is: Phones work BOTH ways. Abstract you should really feel good about calling someone you haven't heard from in a while. Because with this first step all you do is the right thing.
